How many of you know that if your ridge tiles etc have poor mortar, If so your insurance company may refuse any claim caused by storm damage. How many of you know the actual status of your roofs?, tiles and slates and if you have them, solar panels.
Annual or bi-annual inspections of Solar Panels would keep you up to date with the status and keep you ahead of the game. Pro-active is always better than re-active and tends to be cheaper as well. We do have offer prices for domestic dwellings roofs and Solar Panels. And special repeat prices for Estate Agent Inspections. Unfortunately over the past couple of weeks or so, unbeknown to me, the connectivity to the email address has been unreliable so messages have not been received.
I do apologise for this if you have tried to contact me on this medium. I have put in place my alternative which is reliable and if you have tried to email please send to the new links. Drone Services-UK It has been a bit of a strange month from my perspective.
No really major issues, no Rescues, just one or two drone and photographic jobs. I suppose it is to be expected being just after Christmas and New Year. Plus of course the Omicron restrictions. Short and sweet this time so stay safe and I will return. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2022
Last week was a little quiet with even a reduction in the accident insurance and site of incident (Locus) work. Which is good to see on the one hand.
The storms of the other week didn't produce as much damage work as expected in this area with a resultant reduction in demand for our services in drone insurance work. It is probably a little early in the winter weather yet. No major events to report in our area so will sign off for now. It has arrived, the bad weather.
We are ready to deal with any emergencies that may arise. Just call me on the phone, email or web form. Well, here we are again.
It has been quite busy with mainly ground operations . A couple of Drone Operations also. Quite a number of Vehicle Incidents, House Subsidence, Scene of Incident to name but a few. Called out on a Drone Search for missing animal by Drones Search and Rescue UK. Had to obtain permission from Coventry Airport ATC as it was in the FRZ area (Restricted Flight Zone). ATC were very helpful and permission was given. All in a matter of minutes. Flight took place but no sign of the animal. Later reported in the area of the Coventry Memorial Park on the other side of city. Council permission required as well for this and it was felt that the time needed would negate using a drone so ground searchers were considered more practical. The happy news is that the animal was found and recovered with apparently little damage despite a number of scrapes with cars. Emergency roof inspection on a block of flats after heavy rain and water flowing into service and stairs area. Roof drain blocked with leaves. and flooded over top of drainage area. I guess that is about it for the moment, hoping to get some good drone shots of winter scenes if the snow arrives! As the season creeps into Autumn and the leaves start to descend like snowflakes I start to prepare for an increased drone requirement.
In the last few weeks a number of roof inspections and a Search on behalf of Drone Search and Rescue UK have taken place. Just a warm up for the inclement weather to come. Whilst Drone Services are now my main occupation I still do quite a lot of work for insurance companies at ground level. Be it vehicle accident inspections or house subsidence issues or any other issues, I still keep my feet firmly on the ground. Photography is now used a lot as a form of documenting instead of the old pen and paper method. Poor weather will inevitably bring an increase in car accidents as well as drone operations. Lets hope everyone can stay safe on the roads. Well that's it for my first attempt at opening a blog. |
JWI first picked up a camera when 18yrs of age to follow my Astronomy interests. A lot of freelance photographer/videographer years later I have progressed to drone photography/videography in addition. Archives
